Congratulations to university lecturer, Kazuko Matsuura, for receiving the award for Best Research Article by a New Researcher in 2018 at the 50th Annual Chugoku English Language Education conference held at Hiroshima University on June 26, 2019. This was a joint effort of a 4-member group, Junichiro Takeno and Noriaki Ohashi of Chugoku Gakuen University and Keiso Tatsukawa of Hiroshima University, with Ms. Matsuura as lead researcher. This study shows the topical and linguistic characteristics of 2nd level Eiken ‘Passage’ topics and interview test items #3 and #4 used between 2007 and 2016. It is published in the CASELE Research Bulletin in which 10 out of 14 articles are adopted.

2019年6月29日（土）に広島大学で開催された第50回中国地区英語教育学会で、本学部専任講師の松浦加寿子先生が「新人奨励賞」を受賞した。授与対象となった論文名は“英検「２級」二次面接試験問題の「素材」と「質問文」の特徴”であり、同僚の竹野純一郎先生、大橋典晶先生、広島大学の達川奎三先生の４人の共著である。研究では、英検「２級」二次面接試験で用いられるパッセージのタイトルから「素材」の内容を、受験者自身の意見を求める「質問文」から扱われるトピック、用いられる語彙・表現などの特徴を明らかにしている。同論文は、『中国地区英語教育学会研究紀要』第49号に掲載されており、投稿された14編中10編が採用されている。
